Hello, my name is James Nelson. I am proud and excited to announce my candidacy for Boone County Constable in the May 18th, 2010 Republican primary. If I win the Republican Primary we will then proceed to the General Election on November 2, 2010.  Serving in the role of constable is a tremendous honor and responsibility. The position of  constable is an elected Law Enforcement position that is not paid.  The constable is a very valuable position  as it  provides volunteer services to local law enforcement, thus saving taxpayers dollars.  If elected I would use the position to help the Boone County Sheriffs and Florence Police Departments wherever and whenever  the  assistance may be needed.

As your Constable, I will lead the constable’s office with dedication and commitment to improving our community by creating an environment of hope and unity. I promise to work tirelessly to improve conditions in our community and affect positive change in the world around us. I affirm the importance of working together to find solutions. I will not waiver in the conviction to create a better community for all Boone County citizens. I am committed to community service, professionalism, integrity, and justice. I will promote these same qualities in the Boone County constable’s office. If you want a constable’s office that provides professional, effective, and respectful service to our community, then vote James Nelson for constable.  I am counting on your vote at the Republican Primary on May 18, 2010 and at the General Election November 2, 2010

Vote James Nelson for your next Boone County constable.

Signed this 1st day of March, 2010

NEWS ALERT!
Incumbent David Flaig sees the constable position as a joke and does nothing for the position. Yes, constables do have law enforcement capabilities, but we have many other abilities David Flaig is not using. Constables have the ability to help and volunteer in the community such as serving papers, helping with traffic, helping with security at fairs and special events. The purpose of the position is to help and serve the citizens of Boone County, not just treat the position as a joke and then sit in the position stating there is nothing to do. The person in the position needs to take the initiative to help in the community and not just hold the position of Constable and take from the people and the community like it is a joke. Let's not re-elect someone who will not take the position of Constable and the citizens of Boone County seriously. Boone County Recorder article is located under News page or can be found by clicking the NEWS ALERT!
